The Hole singer claims it would be "stupid" to cast the Twilight Saga star as the Nirvana rocker.
Love, 45, told The Canadian Press: "Isn't that so stupid, who would cast him? That's just wrong, no offence (to Pattinson)."
"I watched the 'Twilight' stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenaged girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time.
"But isn't that silly?"
Grunge queen Love, who wants casting and script approval for the biopic, claims she would prefer The Notebook's Ryan Gosling or Brit actor James McAvoy for the role.
Courtney, who had a daughter Frances Bean with Cobain, added that she will never watch the film because it would be too difficult.
